The extended family enjoyed a day out to the child friendly Newbridge Park where there is lots to see and do to keep the children entertained. Playground, forest walks, pet farm, tea rooms and all on 370 acres.

Admission to the pet farm is €5 per adult, €4 per child  and €14 per family (2+2).

A combined tour of Newbridge House & farm can be done for €10 per adult, €6 per child or €30 per family (2+2).

If you are on a tight budget this time of the year, the playground, forest and pitches make a pleasant free afternoons entertainment. All you need is the weather.

The whole family head to Scrumdiddlys afterwards to sample their deliciously famous ice-cream. You can't beat a scrummy tub to round off a fabulous day out.

One of Mommy Bear's personal favourites has Maltesers and marshmallows with the Oreo cookie sauce. She asks for the sweet 'toppings' in the middle and then the Oreo cookie sauce on the top. You should try it. It's delicious. Daddy Bear loves the crepes. The choice of fillings is humongous. Just like Daddy Bear's appetite. And ..... they come with a generous helping of ice-cream on the side. What's not to love. Probably, the best ice-cream parlour in Dublin.
